Comprised of materials from the 2019 Climate Care festival, this case study reflects on the “site-symbiotic” goals of the program and its forthcoming edition in September 2021, centered on the contested site of the Floating University, a rainwater retention basin that formerly served Berlin’s now closed Tempelhof Airport. In addition to engaging with the challenge of climatic breakdown and ethics of care, the 2021 festival program will look critically at the implications of the forthcoming “rewilding” of the festival’s location, a fully functioning water infrastructure.
