When House on the Prairie Became Possibility Island

A case study in how to build a perceptual framework for wiggling through and out of the anthropocene

AC-CS #31163

Poet, maker, and participatory ecologist Michael Swierz invites us to attune ourselves to our own physical embodiment as a focal point for responding to the Anthropocene, documenting firsthand experiences of daily life on an experimental homestead in rural Illinois. Guiding us through this embodied inquiry via a synthesis of poetry, visual art and interspecies communication, this case study offers an opportunity to witness the multidimensional nature of the Anthropocene.
