Marija Uzunova

Marija Uzunova is a Macedonian-born, internet-raised concert pianist/cognitive anthropologist/sociologist of science, indefinitely taking a hiatus from academia. Her latest and current challenge is teaching pre-university students about the politics of knowledge and designing experiential learning adventures with and for them. She was entirely educated in the liberal arts tradition and uses that to explain—and justify, when necessary—her interdisciplinarity or seeming lack of discipline. Marija lives on top of a hill in rural India, with some 250 teenagers inside what they correctly call a bubble, and tries to encourage them to leave it more often and sleep under the stars or with their friends in the temple in the village. Her newly rekindled appreciation of the outdoors combines exceptionally well with her longstanding love for the cosmos, pedagogically as well as ontologically, and she is excited to do more work along those lines. Marija is interested in everything: stories, and the people who tell them.
